Ya know, I've watched bits and pieces of this very popular movie called " Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi"* and always thought it so ridiculous! This middle aged loser gets lucky and marries a hot chick who he then proceeds to trick into falling for a slicker, fancied up, secret version of himself to make her happy?! Yeah sounds like a good plan.
But for some reason I never got to see the beginning of this movie. Till recently when I happened to be channel surfing . And I must say, the rest of the story now seems like an upward curve
🙄So basically, this girls fiancé ( a love match that too, as her father tells us) and his whole entire family die..yeah DIE..on the way to their wedding. The father of the would be bride is tremendously shocked by this turn of events and has a heart attack. And so on his death bed , this professor, an educated man, tells his daughter " What will happen to you now? You are without a man in your life to protect you ...Marry this Lolo** looking stranger you've met just today because I think he's a good guy and he got straight A's in school..He is obviously the right man for you! At least,then i can die in peace with the knowledge that you're now married and in safe (manly) hands."

I mean she could have gotten herself a job, become a CEO, saved orphans, climbed the Everest, I dunno, conquered the World instead...but that's just me, what do I know?
🤷Well then, she marries him in a quickie ceremony and dad DIES a very happy man too!
And so a whole bunch of people DIE so these two awkward strangers can dance around and fall in love eventually, all trickery and clandestine behaviour forgiven!
